Preview11: Moments to watch out for over the weekend

To get you set up ready for a fun filled weekend of sport, here are our 11 interesting stories to look out for over the next three days.

BALE RETURNS TO SPURS

2,710 days, that’s how long it has been since Gareth Bale played in the Premier League. Sunday’s match at 4pm: Tottenham Vs West Ham, calls for a warmly received return by Tottenham, of Gareth Bale. Will he be making his debut back onto the field on Sunday? Will he be able to bring the same power from his last Premier League in 2012, where he scored 21 goals?

MEREYSIDE DERBY

This weekend will see Everton play Liverpool for the first time this season. As the title holders of the Premier League, Liverpool’s manager Jurgen Klopp has said that this match will be one to look out for, as Everton are managed under Carlo Ancelloti, who has managed teams previously and won the UEFA Champions League. Who do you think will win this nerve-wracking match?

GETAGE NAME CHANGE

Getafe will be changing the name of their club and badge to “Fe CF” which translates to Faith FC, in commemoration to their fans during the coronavirus pandemic, to show what their club stands for. This will happen before the La Liga match on Saturday at 8pm: Fe CF Vs Barcelona.

EFL TRANSFER WINDOW CLOSING SOON

The EFL-Premier League transfer window closes at 5pm TODAY. We wait and see if the final few lingering transfer rumours, like Brentford’s Benrahma supposed £30 million transfer to West Ham will be completed in time.

SCOTTISH WOMEN’S FOOTBALL TAKES CENTRE STAGE

The Scottish Women’s Premier League will be shown on the BBC Sport Scotland website on Sunday, with 21 matches following each Sunday, due to a new broadcasting deal struck with MG ALBA. The first match broadcasted will be Hibernian Vs Spartans on Sunday.

RUGBY EURO CUP FINALS

The 2019-20 Rugby season edges closer to completion this weekend with the conclusion of the Challenge Cup and Champions Cup. This weekend will see Bristol Bears Vs Toulon in the Challenge cup on Saturday and Exeter Chiefs Vs Racing 92 in the Champions Cup final on Sunday.

PSG LACKING PLAYERS

According to Thomas Tuchel, Paris Saint-Germain may only have 11 players available for the Ligue 1 match: PSG Vs Nimes, today at 8pm. Coronavirus protocols, injuries and suspensions could affect the number of players. Let’s see how this plays out.

WHO TAKES THE ENGLISH OPEN TITLE?

We have the final rounds of the 2020 Matchroom Live English Open to look forward to. World number one Mark Selby has already secured his place in tomorrow’s semi-finals, but we will have to wait until Sunday to see who takes home the trophy.
