MLS To Broadcast Games On Twitter

The MLS have announced their acquisition of rights to broadcast Major League Soccer on social media platform, Twitter.

The three-year deal which includes live matches, previously livestreamed by rival social media platform Facebook, is set to engage fans of the league and reach a larger audience than ever before.

A minimum of 25 matches per season which are broadcast in Spanish on Univision networks will be part of this livestreaming deal, available through Univision Sports’ and MLS’ Twitter pages.

In addition, MLS will also supply Twitter with live, on-demand content to increase interaction and viewership. Creating unique content around notable MLS events, the likes of All-Star Games, Rivalry Week, Decision Day and the MLS Cup are set to be more accessible, and more followed than ever before.

Advertising will be available to potential sponsors, giving brands the opportunity to capture this audience’s attention, tapping into the emotions of the games and becoming associated with some of the most exciting sports events on the planet.
