All eyes are on the Championship this weekend as the season boils down to the last fixtures of the 2017/18 campaign.

Guaranteed certain promotion to the Premier League, Wolves sit at the top of the Championship with 99 points; 10 points clear of second place Cardiff City.

But while Wolves future may be set, Cardiff City and Fulham get set for their final game of the season, with only one point separating second and third position as it stands.

As Cardiff prepare to battle it out at home against Reading, who currently sit in 19th position and Fulham face 20th place Birmingham away, the pressure is on as a win could secure either team’s position in the Premier League next season, sending the other team into the uncertainty of the play-offs.

The excitement doesn’t stop there, as Aston Villa, Middlesbrough, Derby County and Preston are also in contention to finish in the top six and take one of the prestigious play-off spots.

The benefits of playing in the Premier League next season are immeasurable, with enormous broadcasting revenue for the top-tier league’s teams, increased match day attendance and overall interest and commercial opportunity enormously higher for those in the Premier League.

At the bottom of the table, Sunderland are heading down into Football League One, while Bolton, Burton, Barnsley, Birmingham and Reading are fighting to stay out of the drop zone.
